The Swagman Narra is about 2 hours north of Manila, located in Angeles City, Pampanga. Angeles is the location of the former Clark Air Base US Air Force Facility.
It is also the location of Mount Pinatubo, sight of one of the
largest volcanic eruptions of the century which erupted on June 15, 1991. It even forced
the closure of the massive 15,000 member population, Clark Air Base, once the largest
military base outside of the United States. It also caused heavy damage to the entire
region. The eruption was over 8 years ago and the area has recovered tremendously,
especially the area near the Narra Hotel and Angeles City.
ENTERTAINMENT
The Narra Hotel is a very busy and exciting activity center. The hotel has a beautiful swimming pool and outdoor recreation area. Movies are offered daily as well as 7 days of live Sky Channel from Australia. Every Sunday is big prize Bingo. Thursday is the super Cocktail Happy Hour. Exciting Go-Kart Races and Riding are available from the Local Go-Kart Club. Races are held on Cope Thunder Raceway on the Former Clark Air Base Runway. Full Drag Racing is also available for the more adventurous.
Golf is always available. The Swagman Golf Club is very active and ready for all customers who want to golf at either Luisita Golf and Country club, Tarlac, Tarlac about 45 minutes from the hotel, as well as other fine golf spots in the area. (See Golf under "G")
There are regular tours to view the volcano. Also, the nightlife of Balibago, Angeles is quite active like before.
SCUBA DIVING
For the adventurers, the Swagman now offers scuba diving lessons. PADI Dive instructors are located at the Swagman Narra Hotel. Introductory lessons can be given with the follow-on requirements completed at either Olongapo, Zambales or, Puerto Galera, Mindoro. Swagman can make any arrangements, including dive cruises on the Swagman Yacht, The Thor Viking.
